Simple Elegance

My grandmother was a woman of simplicity, yet grace. She carried herself with such an air of elegance that all those around her gave their respect not because they were intimidated, but because they truly loved this wonderful woman. Though my grandfather died many years before she did, she never removed the Blue Nile wedding ring he had given her all those years before. She never remarried either. There was but one love for her. Toward the end of her life, she began to feel nervous about what would happen to her beloved ring. There were several members of the family who had their eyes on the ring, but she left it for me. I feel a great love for the ring, but mostly because it is a reminder of the woman who’s hand it used to rest upon.
