And one of the most common complications of diabetes is the diabetic foot. This complication may get serious without even knowing it. The complication that may happen because of the diabetic foot leads to an amputation or loss of limb. This loss of limb may affect psychological well being, quality of life and health issues. The reason that the diabetic foot is at such a risk is that diabetes affects the nerves. Which means that the damage can happen and you cannot eventually feel it since the circulation and healing is affected? So when damage does happen, it does not heal very well. Those with diabetes also have stiffer joint, tend to be overweight and may have poor vision that may lead them to self care deficit.
