Getting Online Setups

Getting online with a wireless laptop is one of the most common tasks today with used laptops as well as newer ones. When it comes to part of the connection process, the computer must be able to communicate with the router. This is done through special addressing routines which involve IP addresses. These IP addresses will be supplied by the router to the used laptops under DHCP in most default setups. The fact that the laptop is used may mean that it uses a slightly older technology than what the most cutting edge technology happens to be. This is almost always not an issue because most new wireless technologies are backwards compatible with the previous technologies which will be what some used laptops are basically configured to use.
