Norumbega: A New World of Enchantment in an Old World Setting

Travel Comments Off

Voted Fodor’s choice for 2009, Norumbega’s spectacular stone castle has been a Camden, Maine landmark for over 122 years. According to a 16th century legend, Norumbega was a magnificent city on the banks of the Penobscot River. European explorers told of a city “where the Indians were adorned with furs, silver and gold.” While this mythical city existed only in the over-active imaginations of the early explorers, modern day visitors will find a world of enchantment within Norembega and along Maine’s midcoast. Overlooking scenic Penobscot Bay, Norembega’s unique Victorian characteristics have made it one the most photographed Camden Maine inns. Built in 1886, this castle of stone and wood is “nestled into a four-acre slope of Mt. Battie.” With its classic wood paneling, inlaid wood floors, coffered ceilings, stained glass windows, ornate Gothic fireplaces and turret rooms straight out of a fairy tale fantasy, Norumbega just may be “the ultimate in historic lodging accommodations.” If you’re looking to escape from the cookie-cutter B&B or motel chain accommodations, this is it! For detailed information about Norumbega’s “10 deluxe rooms and 2 incredible suites” call (207) 236-4646 or 1-877-363-4646.

Our trip to Niagra Falls

Travel Comments Off

It’s that time of year again! It’s time to plan our trip to Niagra Falls. This year we plan to take a Buffalo Airport Limo ride out to the falls. This will really make things a lot easier for us. We’re going to be traveling to the Buffalo area in the Spring, so the odds of there being bad weather are minimal. But still, having a an airport limo take us to the falls will simply give us a much more peaceful experience. There’s nothing like having someone else take care of the driving, especially when you’re talking about roads you’re not really that familiar with.

Benefits of Purchasing Portugal Property Through Fractional Ownership

Travel Comments Off

One way to purchase Portugal property is through fractional ownership.  Portugal has one of the hottest property markets for this type of investment.  In this method, a certain number of parties buy into one property and split the cost.  For example, if a property costing $200,000 is bought by eight people, each person owns one eighth of that property, pays one eigth of the mortgages and other monies involved and is entitled to one eighth of gained equity.  Each person also gets to stay at the property for one eighth of each year. If that is not enough time, it is possible to buy more than one share.  In today’s economy, this is becoming more and more popular for vacationers who travel abroad.

Couldn’t Ask For More

Our vacation here was absolutely wonderful. We could not have asked for more in the way of things to do and great food. Both of the restaurants that you have offer some of the most tasteful food that I have ever eaten and I found that I could not wait for the next meal. The staff in the Hotels in Monteverde Costa Rica were all very tentative and made us feel relaxed and welcome.  We had the best time in years on a vacation and I wanted to say thank you. My husband and I have decided that we will return.

They Opened the Door

As a kid, we didn’t have a lot of money. Okay, that was a bit of an understatement. We were the ones that were firmly under the poverty line and very much the charity case. However, I did have some great opportunities. I got to travel on a junior diplomat trip that was sponsored by an unknown benefactor. They paid for the Mancora Peru hotels, as well as all the other travel expenses that there were, so that I could participate. I will always remember that person who opened that avenue for me and try to live my life so that I can do that for someone else one day.

Do they all have different rules?

I wonder if you have had a condition, yet your doctor has yet to diagnose it could your new insurance company tell you it was one of those Pre-Existing Medical Conditions? Since most conditions that are long term don’t happen overnight, could they deny payment for medication and treatment when you go to the doctor? I am really confused about this issue and find that I have mixed feelings about it. I bet they don’t always know whether or not to pay or cover all illnesses. Are they allowed to deny something permanently? That is really a scary question if you ask me.

Rave review

Some friends of mine have just returned from a vacation in New Zealand and they cannot stop raving about the place. They spend three weeks touring the country and they reckon it is one of the most beautiful places they have ever seen. A highlight of their trip was staying in Taupo and the amazing place they stayed in. My mate said he found it by searching for luxury boutique accommodation and he is very glad they he did as he said it made an already great trip even better. After hearing all this I decided I will have to take a vacation there myself.

Can’t Decide

My daughter is in her best friend’s wedding next month. Her friend is driving her crazy. They still haven’t decided where they want to go on their honeymoon. The last couple of days they’ve been looking at exotic locations for honeymoons and they have seen several that they would like, but they can’t make up their minds. I keep trying to tell them that it doesn’t matter where they go, the important part is that they have the chance to start their lives together. They say that they agree, but then worry about it a little bit more. I hope they decide soon.

A Trip to Paradise

My husband and I have been wanting to take a trip to some place completely exotic and foreign to us.  We started searching on line for various locations and found one in Peru that completely caught our attention.  It was a listing for Hoteles En Mancora.  We printed out a ton of information and it sounded absolutely luxurious.  We are so excited that it is all coming together, and in April we will be heading to Peru for a 10 day retreat.  I don’t know if we will even leave our hotel it is so beautiful.  In 3 months we will be swimming in paradise!

Sisters Use Minibus Hire Transport to Get Around

Travel Comments Off

My sisters and I don’t get to spend a lot of time together because we live on both sides of the Atlantic now. Two of us are here in the United States, one is in Wales and one in Scotland. We have decided to meet over there for a vacation and sight-seeing experience. As kids we all loved the romantic stories of knights rescuing fair damsels in distress and castles full of intrigue and mystery. We will use a Minibus Hire transport company to get around once we all gather in one place. I love my sisters so much. Seeing them will be as important as all the traveling around that we are able to do.
