The Best Time to Set Up Credit Card Processing

6:18 am Business

When you start your new business, there is generally an order to doing things.  For example, if you have an ice cream shop, you can’t start selling ice cream without having the product.  This is an obvious example, but there are other things that must be done right.  From your marketing plan to your business plan, you need to avoid skipping any important steps, like setting up credit card acceptance.

When you sell a product or service, depending on the size of your client base, you will need to be accepting several forms of payment.  With a small client base and frequent payment, you might use checks or direct payments most often, but credit cards are also necessary for most businesses.  You don’t have to accept them, but you will make your customers happier if you do.

The best time to set up credit card processing is anytime before you start selling your product.  If you know when your grand opening will be, avoid putting this off until the week before.  Get it done well ahead of time before you open up your business.  For example, setting up your merchant account and the form of processing a month before you open your business is a good choice.
