Typical duties of a clerical customer service position include handling incoming customer service inquiries or requests, processing these requests, keeping track record of various transactions made, call up customers, following up with other departments on service reminders, updating customer accounts database with the status of requests, assisting customer service associates or managers and performing other tasks assigned by the supervisor. A clerical customer service professional typically reports to a customer service manager. A clerical customer service professional has an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Prior experience in this field may be advantageous. Familiarity with MS Word and Excel may be required for some clerical customer service positions.
