Ever since new developments like e-banking/online banking, mobile banking, telephone banking, and other technological developments crept in, banking IT jobs have gained increasing importance. Banking IT positions include network engineer, data analyst, technical support executive, field service technician, ATM technician, software engineer, programmer, IT specialist, hardware engineer, information systems and security manager, and IT security officer. Banking IT professionals should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, a relevant engineering discipline. A recognized certification in the area of networking, programming, IT security or the like, depending on the job profile, is also useful. Banking IT jobs involving programming may require a background in Java, ASP.net, C#, C++, or similar platforms.
